Batch 88 gives back

The Manila Science High School Batch 1988 Alumni Association is committed to support students who will actively participate in the Manila Science High School Program. The necessary costs of paying the educator, and the operating expenses is already funded by the city government, thus tuition fees are very minimal. Although we believe that parents have the primary responsibility to pay for the educational expenses of their children, we also realize that families often need assistance to afford the necessary daily school expenses. The philosophy of the Masci88 Gives Back Baon (Stipend) Assistance Program is predicated in assisting students in need. Funding for Stipend Assistance is contingent upon receipt of funds from foundations and private donors.

The Stipend shall be given directly to the student, on a regular basis (weekly) by the designated Masci faculty representative. The Stipend shall only be used by the student for their daily school expenses (food, transportation expenses, school supplies, etc). It shall not be used for the family's household expenses. Stipend Assistance awards are valid for the year of application only. Assurance of an award cannot be guaranteed on an annual basis.

The Stipend Assistance Program is designed to provide funds to eligible Manila Science High School Students from institutional and private funding sources of the Manila Science High School Batch 1988. In order to be eligible, applicants are required to submit a confidential financial statement and meet the following criteria:

• Be a full‐time MSHS student in good academic standing demonstrating financial need
• Maintain, at every grading period, a minimum GPA of 83 and receive no
grades lower than 83.
• Maintain good conduct
• Is not receiving any other scholarship grant
• Religiously submit report card and stipend form issued and signed by the scholar and designated MASCI faculty representative
• Satisfy any and all of the requirements set forth by the Assessment Committee of the MSHS Batch 1988 Alumni Association and/or our donors.

Applications for Stipend Assistance must be filed annually.

All information provided during application will be kept confidential. The Manila Science High School and the MaSci88 Gives Back Baon (Stipend) Assistance Program Assessment Committee are only responsible for evaluating financial information.

Applicants may appeal the initial award once. All communications regarding the appeal of an award must be completed in writing and submitted to the MaSci88 Gives Back Baon (Stipend) Assistance Program Assessment Committee. An appeal will be evaluated within two weeks after receipt, and responses will be sent via email to the address on file.

All information must be accurate and timely.
Incomplete files will not be processed until all documentation is received. This may result in delay of evaluating and awarding stipend assistance.
